Capital Innovations (CI) was founded by Lynn Allen in 2003. Allen brought to the table an exceptional record of success in designing and implementing business development strategies that deliver new markets and millions of dollars in revenues for both the private and non-profit sectors.

Allen’s business development expertise in new economy companies helped attract two new venture funds to the Metro Louisville region. CI was born and the firm has worked with regional private equity funds, research parks, business incubators, and economic development organizations to increase capital investments.

Allen’s background prior to forming CI includes leading a marketing staff nationally and internationally to build capital and new markets. As director of institutional marketing for AEGON, she grew asset balances by $2.5 Billion among institutional investors. She also uncovered college savings plans as a new market opportunity and, under her leadership, AEGON became the largest sub-advisor in the college savings market, capturing 65% of stable value market share.

As CARE USA's first director of international initiatives, Allen led CARE staff in North America, Asia and Europe in establishing new private sources of support in 15 countries and forged first-time global alliances with companies such as Procter & Gamble, Cargill, Bloomberg, and Nationwide producing several million dollars in new revenues.

Allen holds a Master of International Management from Denver University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kentucky. She is a frequent guest speaker at investment industry conferences and has given national television interviews on CNBC and CNN.
